Rise and shine duckby kurtmooreohComment: Seems almost a snapshot to me, I'm afraid. The sunrise color is very strong and the subject does not seem to stand out against the background. Some blown highlights on the wall in the background are a problem as well. Some selective editing is possibly called for here. I wonder how a b/w version of this might look. I often do that when the colors don't work. |

Blue Petal Dinerby NeilComment: The edges of a couple of the petals look slightly unnatural, otherwise this is a wonderful image. I'm not a huge flower fan, but I do love bugs. |

Walking Downby smykComment: The thumbnail makes this look like a snapshot, but upon opening the full version it is a nicely done model shot. Just the right amount of shallow DOF to give it some dimension and draw the eye to the subject. I can see this in a glossy fashion magazine. |

Sun showerby TammsterComment: Of course a shot I gave feedback on would be one of the first to come up! (No vote from me, natch!) |

The tough guyby Yo_SpiffComment: Originally posted by bvy: Ha! I saw this and thought of me. Great attempt, but you're too far away. I do like the angle. Was this from the hip? |
Hanging around the neck from the strap, walking along with my hand casually on the camera. Set to the widest focal length. You can probably aim the camera better than I can without having to look. The angle was how the shot was taken, though I did crop it. Message edited by author 2009-07-31 21:57:51. |

The Impersonators ... Pigeons of the Seaby RamblinRComment: It's sharp, clear, an interesting flock of birds. About the only possible flaw I can see is the waves are right behind the birds, so they don't stand out as well as they good. Minor nitpick, really. Didn't deserve to place this low, but It looks like you got slammed with DNMC votes. Turned out mine was not a pigeon either, but with only the tail feathers showing, I suppose few people realized it.
I gave this a 7. Still fits the spirit of the theme, I think. Maybe we should do seagulls next time, then all the people who live inland can shoehorn pigeons into the challenge. |

Ruler Zigzagby EmerkazaComment: A great idea I didn't event think of! I have a folding ruler that would zig-zag nicely. Pointage for a good shot and a great idea. |
