No pigeons to photograph where I am so seagulls (and some other type of bird) was the next closest thing. I love this shot and think it came up well after processing.

Expecting low votes because it's not pigeons but I get low votes when I stick to the challenge anyway so no big deal.

Had to run at the birds on the beach and then drop to my knees trying to get the shot. Wise birds worked out what I was up to and then just about refused to fly and instead would just run along the beach.

POST CHALLENGE:
Wish this had just come last so I could claim a brown ribbon!!!

It's sharp, clear, an interesting flock of birds. About the only possible flaw I can see is the waves are right behind the birds, so they don't stand out as well as they good. Minor nitpick, really. Didn't deserve to place this low, but It looks like you got slammed with DNMC votes. Turned out mine was not a pigeon either, but with only the tail feathers showing, I suppose few people realized it.

I gave this a 7. Still fits the spirit of the theme, I think. Maybe we should do seagulls next time, then all the people who live inland can shoehorn pigeons into the challenge.

Pretty much of a stretch. I like the shot in general but I'll score it low because it DNMC

Hahaha! Someone else used "pigeon of the sea"! I did that in a free study a few months ago...

a classic shot, but loose pigeon relation with them being terns and gulls (as the title suggests)

Yep, these cousins will do - I do believe they are related, as in they are birds, they are scavengers, and most people find them annoying. I think they're gorgeous. Nice presentation of them here!
