Drawn to the darknessby LutchenkoComment: It's reassuring for me to see that you can bomb out occasionally. I doubt we will see too many of these however. I gave it a 6, if that's any consolation. |

Support Systemby colorcarnivalComment: I wasn't sure what to make out of this, but I liked the tones and detail. Gave it a 6. What is it a support system for? I can't quite make out what it is holding up. Did you use the new Topaz plug in on this? |

abandonedby vawendyComment: A 5.4 is not a bad showing. It's just not a knock-em dead one either.
A little burning might have helped on the trees outside. I think there is enough detail in them that some careful editing could have pulled some of it in. Perhaps a little dogding inside the tunnel, in order to show off just a bit more of that nice brickwork. Not too bright, however, don't want to ruin the mood. As I said in my in-challenge comment, many of us had issues with overly bright highlights vs dark darks. If nothing else, it was a very educational challenge. |

Ape Cave Lava Tubeby SheryllComment: Post-vote comment:
I generally liked this entry and I gave it a 6. Nice leading composition, good details, and the one area of bright color draws me to it. My nitpick is that the close area to the bottom left, and some of the cavern floor, appears to be lit far differently than the rest of the scene and it does not come off as well as the rest of the image. It looks like utilitarian lighting. Probably your flashlight. It really is hard to tell how these long exposures will come off until you see the result later. I suspect that aspect of the lighting may be the main reason for any low votes this is getting. |

"beyond these things" Procol Haremby rajronComment: Looks really odd. I see lots of artifacts, but the file size does not suggest excessive compression. Not sure if this is an intentional effect, or a reflection, or what...
It's possible that you repeatedly saved this as a JPEG during a number of editing sessions. If that is the case, the fix is to always save in an uncompressed format until you make your final save for upload. That would be either a TIF or your photo editors native format. PSD for Photoshop, PSPIMAGE for PaintShop Pro. |

Everything But The Girlby JudiComment: Looks familiar. Didn't I see her in caves and tunnels? Grungy dirt never looked so good on a woman. |
