Thanks for adding those notes. I've just started learning how to use off camera flash, and that was very helpful. I had tried a similar look for my own entry, but the object was not as easily recognized.

Now that I know what the scene actually portrayed, I see it differently. I suspected this might have been the case, however. There were a a few entries that tried to shoehorn in a sunset pic, so I had top draw a line with my votes. I'm glad to see your entry was strong enough to overcome that and get the score it deserved.

Awesome photo, but I have had to make the decision that a "fiery sunset" does not fit the spirit of this challenge. Though it is possible this place was ravaged by fire, this does not carry across to me in the image. Again, a wonderful shot that I hate giving a low vote to, but I must. To do otherwise is unfair to the entries that did do something related to actual fire.

Sweet sunset, but a stretch that to me does not really suit the spirit of the challenge. And yes, the sun IS a big ball of fire. Well, technically plasma and other nasty stuff.
