Centered comp, Deep DOF, Rule of Thirds.by pallComment: I'd call this rule of thirds rather than centered comp, due to where the horizon and rock are. Now I see you used both in your title. I think that is en excellent way of pointing out that several compositional concepts can coexist in the same scene. |

Deep DOF, Leading Lines, Rule of Thirdsby brumer0Comment: Not sure if this comes off top me as rule of thirds, or centered comp. I am finding on many of these, that people look at different areas to judge the compositional concepts. I guess it depends on what elements one's eye is drawn to. |

Bokeh, Centered Composition, Stop Actionby LonzComment: A very cute shot, one that should be on your wall. (Or in an advertisement for Old Navy)However there is a major issue that nobody else will likely recognize for what it is.
JPEG police here. We have a warrant.
There is a lack of clarity to this photo and I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 44k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing a lot of the detail and sharpness from this image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (200k for this one)
Oh, yes, and use the available 720 pixels on at least one side to get maximum detail into the image. |

Fly over Lincoln Memorialby SnopawComment: You have lots of JPEG compression taking away detail and leaving blocky artifacts in areas. The 47k file size supports this. Compression kills detail. Always use the least amount of compression you can get away with and still come in under the challenge limit.
I'll leave it to the others to slap you with DNMC's over the missing techniques in the title. That's a mere technicality, but the compression is a real problem that you can fix. |
