Backlighting, Light On White, Soft Focusby dtremainComment: Ouch. Stay away from ISO 1600 on that compact. My Powershot S5 looks even worse at that ISO. For a still life like this, use the lowest ISO your camera has, and whatever aperture gives you the look you want. By using a tripod and self timer to reduce camera shake, you can use as long an exposure as the other settings need. |

Leading Lines, Long Exposure, & Tilted Angleby NikonJebComment: C'mon Jeb, at this point a high score from you is pretty common. A great entry. It got a 9 from me. (Um, can I have a couple of those points back? Y'see, mine is somewhere in the bottom third, and I really need them...) Message edited by author 2009-11-02 00:10:01. |

pin up shootby annakiya33Comment: There is a lack of sharpness and clarity to this photo and I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 44k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing a lot of the detail and sharpness from this image. I can also see some compression artifacts around the umbrella. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (150k for this one) |
