I'll go along with the cowboy and polka dots, but if I ever find one wearing pink flip-flops, I'm moving to another state. First rate portrait, BTW.

Nice abstract bokeh, but as with the others, I can't fit bokeh into my definition of polka dots. Sorry.

Very nice abstract, but I have a hard time classifying bokeh as a form of polka dots.

I like the image, though I am not sure that I consider bokeh to be a form of polka dots.

A little out of the box, but it does have a polka dot look to it.

Something escaping from a purse? A banana? An "adult novelty item"? Not quite sure what I am looking at.

Now that I see what camera this was shot with, I see my comment was spot on. This is an example of a situation where better equipment would have made a difference. If you were shooting RAW with an SLR, you would have been able to recover some of that shadow detail without the artifacts. I gave it a 6 because of what you did accomplish with what you had.

I was also shooting JPEG with a similar camera at the same time of day. I was shooting away from the sun, however, and also did a 3 exposure HDR merge to compensate for the narrower dynamic range of the JPG format.

I'm really surprised that this placed in the low 5's. I had it nailed for a high 5 or low 6. It got an 8 from me.
