Spin Cycleby rseeleyComment: Fantastic nature shot! Perhaps could benefit from a little more visual pop. Just out of curiosity, I did some quick adjustments on it and found a modest s-curve and some mild saturation increase really made the bear and the pattern of the water spray stand out. I'll be curious to see how this fares in voting. I can't ding an otherwise outstanding nature shot for the PP, so it still gets a high vote for me. |

Eruptionby KenComment: I like the scene, though I'm not a fan of the fisheye look for this image. It's a good effort to try and present a common scene in a different manner, but it does not seem to work for me. That of course, is just a personal preference thing, and I will be surprised if this entry does not soundly beat my own. |

Single Beautyby elTOROComment: I'm afraid this must get a vote on the low side from me.
-There is a noticeable tilt to the image, that does not appear to be by design. Sometimes an intentional tilt can add impact, but I don't think that's the case here. Correcting tilt is an easy fix.
-The pole/tree poking in on the left draws my eye away from the real subject and also draws attention to the tilt.
-I DO like the way the blades of grass are outlined by the sunshine, and utilizing the translucency of the backlit petals works well. |

Sinking Shipby QuigleyComment: Interesting place to fine a sailing ship. How did it get into that pond in the first place? |

Sprinkleby ankursomaniComment: Great image, except for one major problem. Excessive JPEG compression is taking away a lot of the fine detail and clarity of this photo. Your file size of only 45k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing most of the detail and sharpness from this image. I can see lots of compression artifacts around the high contrast edges. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. |

Birds Eye Veiw.by CraftyComment: I like the moment you captured, but it seems very grainy, as if it is an extreme crop. Perhaps some selective noise reduction could have helped in some areas of the pic. Other than that aspect, which may have been beyond your control, you did very well with this. |

hanging gardens of kudzuby klkitchensComment: I recall seeing this sometime during the year, or a shot from the same set, but I think the editing on this version is much improved. Nice job. |

Reaching outby sulamkComment: Nice fine details and tones. I'm not usually a big fan of florals, but I can still recognize when they are done well. |
