I find this fascinating. Your previous entry of this window scene fell a little short of a 6, while this one nailed a 7+ and the blue. Lighting was the same. I think the first one was actually the superior image, due to being zoomed in, it had a little more mystery about what the scene was about. That was in a freestudy, however, which we know people tend to vote a little more harshly on. Both shots got an 8 from me, because they received Grog comments. The grate one always gives an 8 as appreciation for inspiring a comment and letting him out of his cave for a while.

Not sure about this. The entire image is likely someone else's artwork and that's all there is. If you had showed the puzzle in work on the table, perhaps with a hand in the image placing a piece, that would have added some context to it. Sorry but I have to give a lower vote to this one.

There appears to be some minor but visible curvature from lens distortion. Other than that bothering me, this is a pleasing and interesting shot. Would make a nice desktop background.

Critique per your request: The light isn't anything interesting here. The main subject appears to be the brooch. The highlights on it seems a little overexposed, so it loses detail. Most of the remainder of the image is out of focus, so there really isn't anything for the viewer's eye to grab onto.

I didn't vote in this challenge, but noticed this on the front page. I was curious how wide a lens you used, as I have also submitted a photo or two from an airline seat and had to go very wide. I recently bought that 12-100 myself. Even used, it is the most expensive lens I have purchased. I hadn't thought the manual focus clutch would be a big deal, but it really came in handy in diminishing evening light when the camera could not easily lock focus.

Critique per your request: I can tell you were trying to use some nice soft evening light coming in the window, and you used the better camera (I also have an EM10 Mk2, though it is now my backup body after buying an EM5 mk3.) The lighting looks a bit weird here and I think that is what hurt it. Strong shadows that put an edge on your subject instead of it being soft and pleasing. Perhaps this was actually shot at night, so the light coming in is harsh lights from outside instead of soft and pleasing sun. Also shot at ISO 1600, though the EM10 should be able to handle that without any visible noise at this viewing size.

I see I gave it a 5 in the challenge.
