Side Flyerby AllWeekleyLongComment: Good try at freezing the motion, however the low light inside a school wasn't optimum for doing this. You could have accomplished this outdoors without problem. White balance is a tad off as well, giving a bit of a yellowish cast.
Added: I see you came back and checked the helpful box, so I know you are reading the comments and checking on your progress in the challenge. It's obvious that a high school photography class is participating in this challenge. I'm sure most of your classes entries are taking a beating. The DPC collective is pretty harsh on voting, but if you have a real interest in photography, please stick around here. It's a friendly and helpful community outside of the ring. I've learned a lot here, had some fun and even made a few real life friends. |

Mother and daughterby MelethiaComment: Following up, I see your notes concerning my comment about the tilt. I can also see you were using your ultrawide, which explains why you couldn't get it with everything looking level. The distortion inherent in the lens may have been a factor. I do think the original looks more correct, as my eye is drawn to the people and landscape, not the distant ocean horizon. I usually correct my tilt first along a known vertical or horizontal line (if one exists), but then to look right to me if the first approach doesn't come off well. |

LawtonLakeby DenielleComment: Not over the top. Which is good, because many of us, myself included, have had a tendency to really overcook images when first trying out tonemapping. Let me see what I can do with it. |

Ewesual suspectsby P-A-U-LComment: Grog discovers agriculchur agrekulc aggie culture raising animals for food instead of hunting. Grog gets fat and lazy. Females complain that Grog is already Grate, but too much of grateness makes Grog slow and un-fun after dark. Grog invents wheel and then invents fast thing on wheels to get unfat.
Is all history youngling needs to know. |

WILD FIREby HOOMANComment: I was going to slap a quick 5 on this, but I stopped and considered why you entered a photo of other photographers instead of the dramatic wildfire. It then made a point with me about looking at a disaster as a photo op. Not sure if that's a terrible thing, since it's happening anyway, but it made me pause and think. Making me pause and think is always worth extra pointage. Good documentary photography and an example of looking at things a little differently. |
