watchingby RetroesqueComment: When I voted/commented on this one the first time, I have to admit that I did not pay careful enough attention, and did not realize there was that reflection in the screen that looked like it was turned on. I think a lot of people in their haste to vote on a lot of pictures missed that subtlety.
I think the image itself is a little deadpan, and a lot of voters (myself included) didn't get it. I don't know if that description makes sense or not. But, as I had said during my in-voting comment, I did not think this one would have broad appeal. |

Bababy TejComment: This whole series is pretty nice, but I think I like this the best. Lots of great character and interest in this photo. Message edited by author 2008-02-08 22:22:54. |

up before sunsetby desertoddityComment: Colors are great subject is great. I think what is going on here is the mountains. The view seems too pulled back and there is probably too much busyness at a fine detail level. I think to some extent the mountains and moon are fighting for dominance as the subject. perhaps cropping in a bit, so that the moon is clearly the subject would help some. The processing of the colors is really good, it has a lot of "pow" to it in that area. |

Oliviaby FocusPointComment: Nice name. Daryn seems to have thought so as well.

I.IIby KaliComment: I have a two monitor setup, the larger one has a backlight lamp burned out and everything looks a shade darker and richer on that one. (I don't use that one for voting because it's inaccurate and details in shadows get lost) I actually like this shot better on the problem monitor. I would have likely scored it one notch higher if it had looked like that in voting. (I gave it a 6, BTW) Message edited by author 2008-02-08 00:40:40. |

Winter Streamby CitadelComment: I'm surprised this did not place higher. Perhaps a touch more oomph in the colors would have given it that extra something, but as I said in my previous comment, I like it. |

Portraiture of a Cat.by lzyby098Comment: A basic pet shot, but extremely well done. Clear, good color and lots of detail. The pattern of the fur provides a nice s-curve that leads my eye up to the cats face. I want to give this kitty a scratch behind the ears. |

Castle in the Parkby juliejoldComment: Nice scene and subject here, though the tones seem a little on the low contrast side. Maybe a touch too centered. |
