A good effort, but I think the lighting was not great here. Looks like the cameras built in flash. The harsh shadows and glare in the middle really hurts it, I'm afraid. Some off-camera lighting from the side, and a closer view to show the details of this marble ball would have looked good.

Your file size is a lot smaller than was allowed. It's only 34k and you could have used up to 150k for this challenge. You have lost some clarity and detail to JPEG compression. It is really visible around the edges of the spots and some other high contrast edges. Check the JPEG compression settings in your image editor and always try to save as close to the limit for a challenge as you can get it without going over.

A little too much detail for the 640 pixels allowed. It does not have a lot of impact for me, but I'll bet a larger version, where I could see the finer details, would work much better.
