It was cropped, but not a huge amount. I was pretty close, the focal length recorded in my RAW file was 38mm. I've trained my cycling friends to not run me over.

There's an awful lot of JPEG compression going on here. I can see lots of artifacts around the high contrast edges. There is certainly a loss of detail as well compared to what it could have. You should use as little compression as you can get away with and still fit within challenge limits. Aside from the compression artifacts, this is nicely done.
