Seems oversharpened, or something. Might be JPEG compression. This is a pretty detailed image, and your file size of only 128k, plus the appearance, indicates you probably lost some detail to compression. You had up to 200k to utilize. That's all that is keeping me from giving this a nice high vote.

Really neat the way the light is catching them. I assume that glow is what the title is referring to. To me, it makes them look like cardboard cutouts.

The title is a great attitude to have, as you may be getting killed by low votes on this one. It's a nice close shot of the bird, with lots of detail showing and a great bokeh background. Hard lighting is probably what's hurting it the most. In spite of that, you maintained some good detail in both the shadows and highlights..
