Nice contrast of the red with the bright white snow. I'm not sure if the second tree in the background is part of what the title is referencing or not.

The hard contrast b/w was a good choice. In the original, my eye is drawn to the low contrast details of the men in the boat. Now I am seeing the textures and details of the water, the boat, and it's reflection. I may have cropped it more off center, but that's a preference thing.
