Rose budby salmiakkiComment: You will likely gets lots of love or hate on the border--I tend to ignore the borders unless they are garish and utterly inappropriate--which this one is not. I REALLY Like this image! Beautifully composed, exposed, processed, but you also have worked multiple forms of contrast into this image: light and dark across the entire image, superb local contrast on the bud itself, sharp/soft-bokeh contrast. The focal point and DOF choice here is superb as well. 10

Eleganceby jasonlpriceComment: well done. I wonder if it could go just a one or two tenths of a stop brighter and still hold texture. But it is lovely and gets a 9

Prairie Skeletonby CitadelComment: Probably isn't, but this seems like New Mexico to me, where I grew up: GREAT skies in NM. Well done in every way. 9

Stop!by KarelfredComment: I like it! I wonder if it would work better as a full-up b/w, or full monotone in some other color. But I like the composition and texture. 6

The red floorby MiepComment: bright and energetic image--the tilt adds a lot to what could have been a very static shot otherwise. It seems to have some resizing or sharpening artifacts, and I wish the top of her head was not touching the edge of the frame. But you get a 7 from me.

The grass always looks greener on the other side.by MelizardsComment: wonderful image, well composed, care taken with the lines and flow of the image. Nice sense of light from outside, and the model has the right sense of curious hesitant uncertain longing/waiting/wondering. I think the title is a bit wordy--but so are these comments! 8

Heavy and lightby ELLIPSComment: What really makes this image work for me is the reflection in the wet pavement. The composition is very well done--the placement of the sculpture against the backdrop building, and the angle of view which gives us the two elements of the sculpture this close to touching adds a subtle tension. Layered contrasts abound in this image: light/dark, curved/rectangular, sharp/soft. 7

Late Afternoon at the Bookshopby JimiRoseComment: Well seen opportunistic "street photography" sort of image. The long shadows support the "late afternoon" feel. If it were a bit less dark, we might actually be able to see some books--I think there are some there on the left, but not sure. I like the tonality/color of this image. 7

Smile Baby, Smileby artvetComment: this is striking, well composed and executed. Oddly, the intensity and drama of this image actually make it kind of hard for me to spend much time with it. The dynamics in this image are amazing. 7
