I think that the dark background actually works in your favor in that is really makes your subjects more distinct. If the background were lighter than the hair of the young lady on the right would start to get lost in the background and the two subjects would stand out less.

But if you did want a lighter background, then a slower shutter speed would have been the way to go.

Another superb one from the UK model factory! Amazing hair!!! And the polka dot top works nicely in combination with the relatively muted colors of the remainder of the image.

Great use of dof -- isolates your subject from the rest but bg retains enough detail to hold our interest. Great bright clothing colors against the drabl building and stairs.

Not sure why you are wasting your time looking for birds when you have all of these great people available. Excellent portrait, love the green colors, great focus/details.

Great makeup in eye area, great model and pose, very nice. Nice lighting but I agree with yanko's concern about there being a shadow (certainly easy enough to fix, so no big deal).
