Independence Dayby jmritzComment: Originality: abstracting star/stripe ides of Independence Day without the cliche colors
Composition: excellent balance of light and dark, shapes and negative space, near symmetry with interesting variation
Narrative: allows viewer's imagination to play with what you present
Highest score in the challenge on my scale. Sorry to see my red bar at the upper end lacking appropriate company. |

Winter Shadowby zencowComment: A shade of blue! Light behind objects -- making shadows that fall on the window dressing -- fits a nontraditional vision of contre-jour in my opinion. Love the intricate texture balanced by the thin horizontal lines, and the contemplative mood. |

Sunbathing with a Friendby KristinaGComment: Very much enjoying the play of light here. The echo of orange from the beaks to the upper right corner adds a playful sense to the composition. |

September 7, 1969 - Monty Python's Flying Circus' First Broadcast on BBCby xianartComment: Would have missed this except for Roz's comment popping this into the recently commented page. Are you relieved that you have enough high scoring images to bump this off your front page? (Actually, "proud" would be justified). Happily for your vainity, "for the next forever" was not an accurate prediction. |

Who left the tap on?by JudiComment: This picture brings home the magnitude of flooding far more effectively than discussions in the forum. Too real. Too sad. |

Pretty Little Thingsby HipychikComment: Cute expression and nice depth of field making the tree blurred, but would rather see the sharpest focus be on her eyes rather than the decoration. |

A Wave Awayby jjbeguinComment: One of my top scores for this challenge. Really linke the subdued tone, textures, and irregular rhythm of the many layers of waves. I imagine you had quite a time deciding just how to crop this, as many variations could work well. |

Time for a Cuppa!by lccm_82Comment: Interesting graphic quality -- but makes me think of caffeine jitters more than of needng another cup of tea. High score for overall effect. |

A statue on the runby GanteComment: This could be a still from an animated version of that old comic book about The Flash. Should score well. Hope you let us know
how you managed to get that effect with the sparkling lights. |

Ice Dancingby PennyStreetComment: That bit of cyan background makes the sakter appear to be gliding through clouds and sky. Nicely done. |
