| 07/08/2002 10:03:00 PM | Fear of ownby logihelguComment: I assume the overexposure is purposeful, and though I would like it to be less so (just so the details on the crabs were a little more distinguishable), it does have an interesting effect. Almost dream-like or surreal. I like the shadow created as well. So are you saying that you are scared of crabs, or is one of them you -- metaphorically speaking? karmat |

| 07/10/2002 01:23:00 PM | That's Close Enough!by autoolComment: Actually, it's a little too close for me!!! I hate these things; their nests are kinda cool though. good focus and depth. I think it might have been better if it wasn't cropped quite so closely to the bee with all the open space in the left. In other words, move the bee further up and to the left. |
| 07/10/2002 01:25:00 PM | Don't be afraid ...by pnichollsComment: Good capture, but shame on you for scaring the poor birds trying to eat! :-) I like the way everything is in focus except the birds -- it gives a sense of motion. My only critical comment would be that it needs some "color" in the picture. The greens are nice, but it is all kinda camo-ed. Too bad you didn't have a male cardinal taking off. karmat |
| 07/08/2002 10:12:00 PM | Captivityby arnitComment: At first, I thought the wire needed to be further up the picture, but then I decided that it may be more effective where it is because the viewer has a sense of freedom by the wide open blue sky, then it abruptly ends with the single strand of barbed wire. (Just a note: if a horse wants to be out of "captivity" a strand of barbed wire won't stop him. :-)) I like the contrast provided. karmat |

If possible, a sharper focus might have helped 'cause it looks a little fuzzy (the focus, not the spider) to me. Of course, that might have meant you needed to get closer, and I can understand why you didn't. karmat |
