I like your use of depth of field. Would it have been possible to get even cloer to one of the drops to catch a reflection in it?

Nice colors. The focus seems a little grainy. What was your ISO?

Good focus and lighting. I think it would have benefited from a more dramatic angle or perspective.

I hoped that washed off okay. :-) I think a lighter background, though the black adds an element of mystery, would have shown the blue hand better.

I really like the depth of field you have chosen on this. The "blurriness" balances itself because the front is blurring and the background is blurry. Very nicely done!!!

CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Very nice composition. You have done an excellent job of "filling" the frame without making it look like part of it was cut out accidentally. I like the "curves" between the two, and how they are "nestled" together. The depth of field is awesome in that the details are visible and clear, and the eye focuses on the "stem" of the onion.

My first impression was that perhaps you needed a more obvious secondary color, though you do indeed meet the challenge. To the casual observer/voter, it may appear yellowish instead of orange which is what I think you were going for. Technically and compositionally, this is an awesome shot, and would look wonderful on the wall of a kitchen or restaurant -- maybe a whole garlic/onion series, even.

Good work and best to you in future challenges.

I like the perspective of this, and the way the ornament at the top forms a frame. I think if the little car thing was a bit more dominant, it would be more effective.

The white mask helps to make the orange and blue one even more dramatic. Good work.
