Rainy day trafficby naomikComment: Sharper focus, and bolder colors could have really helped this to be a more effective photograph. The road leads "into" the shot well enough, but it doesn't go to anything particularly interesting. I am assuming you were having to shoot without getting run over, but if you could have isolated one car or vehicle to "focus" on, the viewer would be more interested, I think. |

Tiny Dropletsby NodeComment: Hmmm, I really like hte bw and the simplistic/minimalist feel to this.
Kinda caught my attention. Good work. |

Drinking or Diving?by tateComment: It took me a while to figure out why you had focused where you did (I presume ot see the water). Taht said, the fly being out of focus is really distracting, and because of its location in the frame and coloring, tends to become the main focal point, and its lack of focus is distracting.
If you could have had deeper depth of field (not always possible with macro, I understand), it would have been more effective. |

Sunbeams and rainby tonyvComment: I like the contrast of the blue mountains and green fields, and the fact that the horizon isn't dead center helps as well. I also like the "sunbeams." However, there isn't really anywhere for the eyes to "rest" or anything that makes the shot say "Hey, I'm a super-interesting landscape, keep looking at me." I did find myself trying to see the small patch of stuff in the lower right. |

Fruit of Nature's laborby octane202Comment: I like the rich greeness of this, and great capture of the water drop. The focus seems just a tad off, giving it a grainy look. |

Nothing will spoil their dayby RiponladyComment: Good composition, and a great idea, but unfortunately their expression doesn't match the title (not that that has any bearing on the quality of the picture, just a thought).
The picture is in focus, but not "sharp" per se. It almost looks like it was underexposed and brightened in post-processing giving it a grainy look. |

Gerainiumby madhatterComment: Great focus and exposure. The red really stands out against the other more neutral colors. Emotional shot -- kinda like being beat down by the circumstances around you, but still trying hard to be beautiful. |

Nourishing Rainby JeremyFleuryComment: I like the colors and the sharp focus at the top of the first flower. I think the dark space at the bottom pulls the eyes down and away from the sharp section, and leaves the overall impression of being slightly out of focus, though it is not. |

Into the Storm by dsidwellComment: The leading lines of the road going into the storm, and the division of the picture into earth/space/clouds is particularly effective. However the slight shift to the left kinda bothers me. It is not enough to feel like it is on a stable "third spot" but not centered enough to give the picture a stable feeling. Knowing how some people are uneasy before a storm, though, that might help establish the mood. |
