The Evolution of Woodyby jfwolpertComment: Great idea. I laughed when I saw this. The only thing that seemed out of balance to me was that we tend to think of evolving from small to large, so if the block had been smaller than the clothspin, it would have felt more balanced to me. |

Day 7.5by magenmarieComment: Reversing it is cool, huh. It is definitely hard to handhold that way, though. Great capture. I like how the blurry bottom left forces the eyes to the focused part more in the frame. Good work. |

Bird of Paradise Day 5by sherpetComment: Oh my gosh, those colors make me speechless. Stunning, vibrant and gorgeous. This would make a beautiful *HUGE* print |

Hibiscus Againby silverscreenComment: This is a very pleasing image, graphically speaking. I love the contrast of the colors, and the composition is wonderful -- very balanced and "energizing." |

I Spy with My Little Eye Day 15by sherpetComment: The composition on this one is near perfect, I think. It forces the viewer to look at the eye by drawing attention to the nose, then leading up and into the face. Nice work! |

Leading the Bandby jfwolpertComment: Great composition and capture. Definitely brings back memories for me (I marched in HS and college more years than I care to count). I'm on my work monitor (which sucks), but the contrast is a bit high on this. Granted, I suspect it is more the monitor, but if anyone votes with one of these, that is what they are seeing (big help, huh?). Your choice of DOF really works well, I think. |

The Uber Geekby rinacComment: I love this. How much more "faceless" can you get than feet. (Just as a side note -- I appreciate that his socks are hole-less and clean).
I love the composition of this. The feet immediately attract attention, but then the eye is drawn up into the frame to see what he is reading. I like the shadows as well.
The only suggestion I might give, and I'm not sure it would make it stronger is to have him sitting at an angle/diagonal going through the frame, instead of centered. Like I said, I don't know if that would really make it stronger, because I like how it is centered. (How is that for wishy-washy?)
Great work. |
