Catamountby madcrabberComment: I really like how he/she is "hiding" behind the rock. He looks kind of sad though. Is it a catamount or a cougar? I thought catamounts' ears were more pointy, and they had smaller heads. They are mean looking little boogers. (My college mascot was the catamount so I am basing it on that, and may be totally off base. In which case, just ignore everything after "sad.") |

Sad Pelicanby MacDonaldComment: Good colors, and I do like how his head/beak fill the frame, but it feels a bit tight (left to right) to me overall. Maybe a tighter crop top and bottom would help it feel "wider." |

Death of a Candy Addict...!by silverscreenComment: This is too funny. I like all the bright colors, but the little hot spots become distracting, just because there are so many of them. I can't offer any advice to fix them, though, so I suppose it isn't really helpful.
Something I do think would make the composition a bit stronger is to move the hand out of the center of the frame and use negative space to your advantage. By having the hand in the lower right or left corner, it would kind of give the impression of being "smothered" by the candy. |

By the lakeby marvinComment: Very peaceful and serene. I like the "movement" of the water through the frame. |

still nightby sigrun_thComment: Very nice reflection. It feels a bit off center (too far to the right). It's not centered enough to be centered and not far enough to the right to be on a third to make for a balanced feeling. |

Perfect Sunday Morningby taljComment: I like the tilt. Of course, I've been accused of being "off-balance" anyway. :) I think it adds "drama" and interest to the shot. :)
The focus is good and the lighting is good. I had no idea people ate baked beans for breakfast. So the picture was educational as well.
Wish I could offer something that would explain only a 5.5, but I'm not sure that I can. Good work. |

Morning Ritualsby jfwolpertComment: It's well lit, and well focused, no so "complaints" there The composition kinda doesn't fit for me, though. It feels out of balance. The paper being upside down gives it a feeling of being an accident, and the cup being in the middle of the vertical frame both add to the unbalance, I think. Maybe if the crop was a bit wider so that the whole cup was included (not that I mind things being out of frame)and if you had more of the window to the top and left. Oh yea, turn the paper upside down. Obviously just my opinion, because I'm not sure of the spatial constraints you had (or didn't have).
Did you realize you had almost a perfect voting bell curve on this picture? I thought that was kind of interesting.
