Not a bad shot, and I think the square crop works okay. Since the boy is the only one really visible, it might have been more effective to crop closer so he is more visible. Otherwise, I think you either need to rotate to the left and straighten it up, or more to the right and make it really skewed. It feels as if the buggy is getting ready to turn over.

Interesting. And I know the border "matches" the necklace, but other than that, it is a bit excessive and distracting. I think the picture would have been better enhanced with a simple border, or none at all.

I'm sure you wouldn't have entered this in a candid challenge if it were not a candid, but except for the fact that he is not looking at the camera makes it seem posed. The lighting is excellent, and screams "studio," and his smile looks a bit canned, but probably the biggest thing is that there is not background of any kind to give the shot "context," so it is difficult to tell if it is a true candid or a posed portrait shot.
