pirouetteby krnodilComment: This shot was both delicate and elegant. I really like it and think it would make an absolutely gorgeous print! |

up before sunsetby desertoddityComment: That is a really nice sky; I think cropping it so that more sky and less mountains would have helped the strength of this shot. Also, the moon just looks odd to me. Almost like a cartoon stuck in there. I don't know how you processed it, but if you could have kept some of the details there, and in the mountains I think it would have more depth. As it is now, the straight moon and sky look a bit flat, and the mountains a bit contrasty. |

little jackby tnunComment: I think the overall composition is done very well -- like figaro said, we automatically look up and out to see what the dog is looking at, and find ourselves pulling to get loose to go. If possible, I think more space up and to the left, creating more negative space would have made it stronger. Maybe also a slightly lower perspective, so I don't feel like I am just standing there looking down on a dog. And last but not least, the dog's whites look almost pinkish on my screen, especially up near the head. This gives at least the illusion of being slightly off in exposure and lacking brightness |

Water Dancerby AliciaComment: At first glance I didn't like this one, but then, the more I looked at it, the more I did. :) I thought it was really cool how just the tips of his wings were touching. Looks almost like he is standing on them. A crop/composition that didn't have him quite so centered may have given the picture a bit more dynamic feeling. He is pretty centered, and while it looks like he is getting ready to fly, there is nowhere for him to fly to. Of course, I am one of your two nines, so . . . .:)

Storytimeby glad2badadComment: This has a really good composition. Very balanced and has "movement" through the frame. The expressions on their faces make the viewer smile -- they look so happy. The black and white conversion works well too -- you have good contrast, etc. The major detractor for me was the grainy look. A little might have been okay. This almost struck me as a shot you got in the dark and had to brighten it a lot (and introducing noise) to get it to work. |

Londonby figaroComment: I gave it a seven. :) I really liked how you captured the "busy-ness" of the scene, but how the one girl is isolated. Also, this is a really smooth, nicely done bw capture. To improve it? I dunno, honestly. Perhaps a slightly wider crop on the left and less on the right. That might help to reduce the distraction the guy walking into the frame causes. |
