I think this would have done great in a landscape type challenge. Good foreground interest , details aplenty in the midground, dramatic sky , but it does not convey harmony or serenity or simplicity. The colors are just too punchy & warm. 6

The problem here is that the lighting is too harsh and really not "tanquil" enough IMO. Captured at a different time of day with softer light & converted to a suitable duotone may be better IMO. 5

I have to say that this is very unique., the reflection is great. Not too sure about the characters. They make the shot a little too busy for a zen image and they are also a little too contrasty, 6

Ernie , I am just as dissapointed as you are. This is a darn good shot! The voters dinged the shot because they felt that it did not fit the challenge. I had the same fear with my shot , so I added an almost unnoticeable yellow tone to the shot and yes it did fare better.

Anyway an excellent shot is an excellent shot. Don't worry too much about it.
