Don't really care for the (onboard?) flash lighting, and the composition is far too busy. Maybe if you'd picked just one of the subjects and went with that?

It is? I'm positive I've seen processing details for basic entries that include single RAW files processed in Photomatix.

That would be problematic, since I self-DQ'ed a couple of challenges ago. :-(

edit: I'm not seeing anything in the Basic rules that would indicate Photomatix is prohibited. ??

Yep, it is. The RAW file was converted to DNG, and the DNG was tone-mapped in Photomatix. The "curves" adjustment in Photoshop brought out the sky. Of course, that left the foreground painfully over-staurated. :-(
