Finish Line by RuchartComment: Exciting shot! Marvellous emptiness!
Composition, perspective, colour and light (the fading tonality toward the distance) are so smoothly integrated. The first and overall impression, to me, is one of an 'easy, casual' shot premissing a fair degree of skill and a very good eye. |

Good control and composition.
Even the whiskers are visible!
Congratulations to a great shot! |

Paperclipsby sagestudioComment: Sometimes (!) I run into a photo with apparent flaws (contrast, lighting, focus...), when compared to the familar and usually sensible ways of photography.
Here, IMO, we have a photograph that relies very little on any extraneous codec. Everything is as it should be. It is, in short, a photo to be studied and learnt from.
The tension (dynamics) created between the 'frivolous' clips, the dignified (sorrowful?) face (a 'telling' mouth) and the hard and dry manner is what makes this an outstanding photo. The sculptural (bust-) effect achieved by blending the dress into the background and the very deliberate composition (the partial face) are extreme and cannot be done better.
I bow.

one for the scrapbook by indigo997Comment: The fitted (?) and rounded desk topis not credible! ;-)
Wonderful time capsule you have created here. Technically, all seems appropiate to me, including the softer focus. |

Liquid Tomato...aka..Tomato Soupby Girl from OZComment: For a bowl of, say, tomato-banana soup, presented like this on the menu, if service and ambience could match the immaculate attention and care of the photographer... I'd be obliged to pay dearly and tip genourously.
Given the 'emotive' limits set by the challenge, I vote in the same spirit. |

Sapby vtruanComment: I really liked this shot, alas... only it's just too dark to be truly satisfyling. |

Abstract Liquid Art (Food Coloring On Milk)by GolferDDSComment: The yellow border in addition to the intense image colours makes this a 'loud' capture. The hair line black alone would have served your otherwise interesting and unique capture/experiment better, IMHO. |

These Are My Stairsby DennisFComment: A bit oversharpened (?), perhaps, but still a superb capture with the focused symmetry of the feline's face dominating the picture. The intensity makes it more than a 'pet pic'. The title, really, was needed here to tie to challenge. Well done. |

Blossom Time Ballon Festivalby STEINRComment: A bit topically 'strained', which is a shame, coz it's otherwise a fun shot with good lighting and composition. The range of blue in the smaller balloon is a little feast! |
