A twisted sense of timeby clauderbaughComment: I just stumbled across your portfolio, Chad. The simplicity of your photos is striking! For God's sake, keep this up. What a pure stance toward the world!

Balloons! Balloons! Balloons!by kosmikkreeperComment: The sheer number of balloons, at varying sizes and colours make a wonderful postcard! The cumuli with their equally random arrangement add further viewing pleasure. The rich colours, apparently taken through a polarizer, stand out perfectly against the hue of the sky.
Good (or lucky) composition, technically apt for the purpose, this is a very l i g h t capture, but a very successful one. Fun, fun, fun. |

Just Give Us a Kiss.by hgpayneComment: The term s n a p s h o t is sometimes used in a derogatory way. Here, IMO, we have an oppurtunity to use it fittingly and as a compliment. Really, half the charme of this image is the very manner of this photo. It's utterly topical AND hilariously real and entertaining. To me, it is educational as well.
After all, now I know what it looks like inside a giraffe's mouth! |

Beyond the Beach by progersctComment: Very pleasing and strong perspective shot with wave and white-caps breaking up the static of the dominant structure. The two (flanking) effective arches in the foreground provide a nice counter balance to the rectangular theme.
I question the DOF chosen for this shot. While it works well to bring out the textures of the foremost columns, I regret not being able to enjoy the breakers in their full and crisp glory. A larger or more deliberately choice, IMO, could highlight the spray or help distinguish the sky from the horizon.
Despite this, it remains one of my favourite shots in this challenge. |
