Remarks: Oddly, this genre, in a straightforward sort of way, would draw dramatically low marks from me. The cliche, however, has been promoted to the level of parody in this astonishing photograph, and that, apparently, without any injury to innocence or, if you like, to the subject itself.

Altogether a magical image well worth studying, even if only for the various tensions discovered, unified and celebrated here.

Remarks: the technical marks are high here, because, IMHO, the lack of sharpness, tonal gradation and lustre support the ambience and energy of this remarkable image. Great jazz, strongest in challenge.
