I saw your post in the forums about this photo and would like to comment... first of all, whether or not this is a 'difficult' or 'unique' photograph is basically irrelevant to the 'challenge' concept. I can see why you may have received comments on this issue. Even though it is very unusual that you were able to get this photo, it doesn't apply in the challenge. Even though these deer do have 'velvet' antlers, you can't see the texture of it in this photograph. Try to imagine this photograph with a title of "untitled" being entered in this texture challenge.... It's a case of the title saving the photo. The subject of the photo is not a 'texture' subject, even though it has texture... it's not readily visible to the viewer. You could have named this photo "the rough asphalt" or "tree leaves textures" or "fur texture" or anything else along those lines and gotten the same result. I'm sorry to hear that your luck with this image is not good this week :) = 5 - jmsetzler

phenomenal work... critiques: it looks like the red dots in the upper left corner may be a result of over post processing... I see some jagged edges on the curves in the top half of the photo that may be a result of over sharpening... that being said, this is also an example of a photo that I find imperfect that still scores a 10. the fluidity an smoothness of this image along with the nice lighting works very well for me..you have a great eye and mind to come up with this image for this challenge.. great work = 10 - jmsetzler
