The texture on this photo is interesting, but the subject matter simply does not appeal to me. The flat colors don't catch my eye... = 5 - jmsetzler

I think this photo would have more impact if the horizon was visible... = 5 - jmsetzler

excellent image... this is perfect depth of field settings for this shot and the texture on this 'creature' is phenomenal :) = 8 - jmsetzler

very good concept on the texture challenge... my only critique on this one is that it may work better with some extra space on the left and on the bottom, especially since the bread edge is not completely vertical on the left... = 6 - jmsetzler

This particular image does not create a sense of great texture for me. I see the texture here, but this texture is something i see every day... = 5 - jmsetzler

This photo is a very good idea. I think this photo had quite a great potential as well. I think the depth of field in this one could use a little bit of work to improve the overall image. There is a very small plane of focus in this image and it seems that the majority of the subject area here is out of focus. If you go to the LEARN link here on DPC and choose TUTORIALS, there is a GREAT photography tutorial there called "Classical Photo Course" that contains some great information on depth of field and how you can control it... It also shows some great examples of where different levels of depth of field work well.... good luck :) = 7 - jmsetzler

I'm not sure that I like the sighs cut on the left and right edges... I think this particular view would also work much better in focus... = 5 - jmsetzler
