Snow Fall Rhythm on Dead Flowerby rj324Comment: Very interesting shot... the lack of color works well here... The 'rhythm' challenge description discusses 'repeating themes' and I'm having trouble understanding that particular concept in this photo. - setzler |

roller coinby j-oconnorComment: I may be completely missing something here, but I don't see any yellow... If the coin is the subject of this photo, it probably needs to be in sharper focus to create more impact :) - setzler |

Snow Tree at Nightby pauldComment: This is a very interesting image overall, but the 'yellow' theme seems a bit week here... the color tone for me appears to be a deep orange or red.. maybe some hue adjustments in software would bring it back to life :) - setzler |

Intriguedby DoorskidderComment: This is a beautiful cat :) I believe that the color in this image is a little flat and the contrast is a bit weak also... The theme of 'yellow' could be stronger with some more contrast in the image :) - setzler |

Specks and the Universeby greenem2Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Lucky me... I get to critique my favorite photo from the challenge :)
I found this photo to be quite inspiring. Where perspective is concerned, I really like your approach to the challenge. The small children in this photo give 'perspective' to the vast land/sea/sky scapes shown in your photo. Your choice of black and white really enhances the entire mood of this photo as well. The theme could be somewhat 'sinister' in a way but, with your title, it sort of puts mankind into perspective with everything :) I love the entire composition... I can't offer you any ideas for improvement because I woulnd't change a thing...
Great job...

Circlesby JackoComment: this is a great shot of repeating patterns for sure... excellent 'rhythm'... I believe it may be slightly oversharpened possibly... there are some 'jags' in the foreground part of the slinky that indicate this... great shot.. = 8 - setzler |

Dark Roastby JackoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Jacko...
I think this is shot is very pleasing to the eye. The light seems to create a softness to the image that works very well. Coffee is a 'soothing' thing for many people. The softness of this image seems to contribute nicely to that theme. When I first saw this image, I could almost smell the coffee... This shot could easily be used for product advertisememt.
I can't really offer you any suggestions for improvement on this shot.
Keep up the good work :)

Laid Backby sahkoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
I'm glad I got this photo for a CC selection because it was one of my favorite shots in the challenge. I see pet photos here every week, but most of them are not much more than your average snapshot. The theme of the 'cliche' challenge was to photograph a common subject but turn it into a great photo.. You have done an excellent job of that with your entry.
The lighting and the shallow depth of field in this image create a very 'soft' feeling to go along with the nature of this kitten.
I don't think there is anything you could have done to improve this great shot :)
Keep up the great work :)
