Duncanby PaigeComment: The butterfly :) I had several butterfly and 'jewel' models of the duncan yo--yos when i was a kid... i particularly liked the butterfly becuase of it's 'secret' compartment for storing an extra string.... great shot... great composition, and great idea :) = 10 - setzler |

All in the eyes.by GeocideComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Genocide...
Good work with the exposure on this shot. The concept that you are trying to show here is working fairly well. The 'eyes' do seem to have emotions of their own when one really studies the image closely. The catch light in the eye works really well here since it is an odd shape. That seems to add to the depth and dimension of the eye.
Compositionally, I believe a different crop of this image would be stronger. If you cropped out the bottom third of the image, two possible improvements would happen. 1 - The 'blue' line in the lower left would be removed... This does add a nice touch of color to the photo, but it also could be considered a distraction from your 'eye'. 2 - The balance of the photo would be a little better. The void area underneath the eye in the photo seems to be a bit bland overall. Give that a shot and see what you think...
Keep up the good work :)

Sad Eyesby WILDBLUEComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Wildblue...
I think this is an excellent emotion capture. I expected to see some shots like this one, but you executed this one rather well. The lighting is right on and I really like the softness of the image. The little bit of catch light in the tear really sets this photo in motion for me. The tonal range of the photo is also very nice. The highlights and the lowlights are in sync and the balance is excellent.
I can't really suggest any changes for this image. The composition is good and the execution is good also...
Keep up the good work :)

Love & Devotionby azzemotoComment: This is a nice portrait, but i think I am missing the element of 'symmetry' here... - setzler |

Inverted Symmetryby K-RobComment: Interesting work... symmetry? Hmm... I guess it could be, but it's more of the opposite in my opinion... good use of technique :) - setzler |
