A Close Shaveby agwrightComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi agwright...
I think the color in this photo is excellent.. Whatever modifications you made to get that combination worked nicely :) I also like your compositional choice... the strong diagonal always works for me and it gives this photo a nice abstract quality. I normally don't care for heavy color modifications, but this one works :)
The shallow depth of field works very well here also... It forces the attention to the blades... I really don't have a very strong 'critique' for you because I can't offer any suggestions to improve what you have done here, and I like your resulting photo :)
Keep up the good work :)

Transcendental Numberby lisaeComment: I like the idea of this photo.. I think it woudl be stronger with the background having more sky and less ground, which would highlight your 'pi' symbol with a lot more strength.. nice work :) - setzler |

:-(by GotchyaComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Gotchya...
This photograph is nicely composed, but I think it may have actually done better without the reflections in the blade of the scissors. I understand your intention with that, but, to me, it makes the photo seem a bit odd. I do like the strong diagonals created by the scissors. Diagonals always seem to enhance a composition for me.
As for the macro theme, I think we suffered common fates with our photographs in this challenge. My photograph didn't scream 'macro' because it wasn't an extreme closeup. Unfortunately, just having your camera in the macro mode doesn't seem to work for challenges here. The subject needs to appear larger than life to do well in a macro challenge.
Keep up the good work :)
