This *is* an excellent shot. The more I look at it, the more titles I think of that would really work strongly with this as well :) Those clouds in the distance look like a 'storm' rolling in. Since they are also illuminated much more than the capital building, it looks like this 'storm' has much more power than anything else in the photo. It really seems to create a nice theme for certain current political events and news stories. The US, being the powerful nation that it is, is constantly under various pressures and threats. Your 'storm' seems to accent that for me.

This isn't the greatest 'trends' photo i have seen this week, but it's the greates photo in general that i have seen this week... great work... = 10

I take that back... overeating and laziness are a great trend concept... phenomenal photo :)

Personally, I would like this much better if it was in sharp focus. Maybe the tie-in to drug use in the 60s/70s is the reason you chose to make it out of focus.. interesting concpet :)

This is a particularly interesting photo. I really like the detail. I'm struggling with the 'contrast' theme. I'm assuming that the contrast you are trying to show here is 'plant / animal' possibly. This is a valid contrast, but the all-green nature of the photo itself seems to overpower any theme of 'contrast' that you may be trying to convey with this photo. If I was viewing this photo outside the context of this particular challenge, 'contrast' would be one of the very last things that came to mind if I was asked to describe the theme of this photo.

I think this is in very poor taste. Now that i'm over the 'poor taste' factor involved in this photo, I should probably discuss the photograph itself... Compositionally, it's fine.. the only element of the composition that I don't care for is the feeling that the bear is floating is space with no visible surface... Technically, I don't like the yellow tungsten glow on this one... i don't know if that was intentional or not, but it can easily be corrected or shifted with white balance adjustents in cam or with software in post processing...
