What's the Point?by KonadorComment: Ben, this is good work as usual :) I think that if you crop about half of the dark area of the bottom, it works nicely also :) |

Walk a mile in my shoes...by WILDBLUEComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
We no longer offer critique when there is no exposure information or photographer comments provided.
However, I could mention a couple things here... The crop seems just a bit tight and the angle could be stronger with a bit of a diagonal composition. The seem is also visible in your background. This can be worked around by using flexible posterboard or white paper to create a smooth bend rather than a crease...

Even beauty has its imperfections.by jspencer1962Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
This composition is fairly plain with no particular elements of strength. The background seems to be a bit contrasty as well. I think a closer composition that removed the background completely would work best in this case.
This shot is also out of focus. I think that was probably one of two major contributors to the score being on the low side of average. The second contributor is that I believe you missed the theme of the challenge.
Flower photography is something that I hope to get better at. I have been practicing with it and making a few strong photos. It's about like working with any other subject... look for interesting angles and something that is not your normal point of view...

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Wordsby FullyFocusedComment: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
This photo seems to meet the challenge without much problem at all. I think it falls short photograpically for one primary reason. The image contains no depth or texture. These elements certainly are not requirements for a photograph, but they do seem to work nicely together to create more visual appeal.
I also think the depth of field here may be too shallow and in the wrong place. I can't really do anything but guess at that since the exposure data isn't posted with the image.
The score you received seems to indicate that the general population did not find a high level of interest in the image. I think the composition and subject choice probably contributed to that. It's rare that two-dimensional images do well here. You need that third dimension of depth :)

purely medicinal...:)by dc broughtonComment: This is in poor taste. Why didn't you just photography yourself smoking it? The burning aroma is much stronger and would meet the challenge a lot better. |

In the Gymby karmatComment: Good work here... I like what I see, but for some reason, this shot begs for color :) |
