This is an excellent image, but the border really is too much. I see this frequently on DPChallenge though and I'm slowly learning to deal with it. A border should NEVER compete for attention with what's inside it.

Interesting concept... The self portrait may be in natural light, but the light isn't contributing much to the image itself. Maybe it's the processing that's overriding the main theme of this particular challenge.

I gave this photo a 10. This type of photo is a small slice of life that not many people seem to appreciate. This is a photo that your daughter will cherish one day :) It's also a good photo to save for a table display at her wedding reception :) Candid moments like this one are quite hard to come by. It's too bad that most folks around here can't find a great appreciation for stuff like this...

You have a neat subject here for this challenge. Your choice of border color and intensity is competing with the subject for attention though. When you add a border, do you want people to really notice it as much as what is contained within?

I like this photo a lot.. In fact, it's one of my top picks in this challenge. I look for this scene myself when I'm photographing graduations, and this one is better than any I have come up with in the past. It makes great 'feature art' in a newspaper for graduation... 10
