after we uncovered the wallpaper...by raishComment: What great wallpaper! I'm guessing circa mid- to late-1960's.
Silent testimony of the former occupant / stage in life.
Looks like you tried to straighten it along the right edge, but the horizontal lines at the ceiling and floor are much more visible / noticeable. I think including a bit of floor / ceiling was required (to avoid a DQ), but straightening at the ceiling would probably have been a better choice than the right side.
You've captured a great moment from about 50 years ago. It made me smile. |

Yummie!!!!by albrixComment: What a great idea! You have to look carefully to figure out the problem.
Technically, you have good lighting, nice composition. I don't see an issue with the grain, so high iso and long shutter speed do not seem to be a problem.
It would have helped to use blemish correction to get rid of the white spots in the background - there are three just to the right of the bread, but as you look closer, there are lots of them.
The other issue is cultural. The bread does not look like bread to the US eye. If not for the sliced area where you can see the typical structure of bread... Well, to me, it looks like a round chunk of meat. It is also a lot darker than our typical breakfast breads. Until you understand what it is, it does not look appealing.
Do keep in mind that any average score above 5 shows that some people are rating your picture 6 and above. |

Five O'Clock Shadowby giantmikeComment: I'd know that nose anywhere. Um... not really. Nice use of hood to hide eyes & most of face shape. Not sure if I like the background on the right side of shot. |

me? really?by mariucaComment: Simple, effective setup. Not even enough to tell male / female. The red glasses add a nice splash of color. |

An Australian Out Backby AbraComment: Mr. Wilson! (obscure reference to the Home Improvement US TV show from years ago). Very creative way to distort your face enough to not be recognized. Nice hat, too. |
