Comment:
This would have been an incredible shot if you could have captured the full body in silhouette. Nice lighting, and I like the pattern on the sail. The "banding" in the sky (visible edges instead of a smooth transition from one tone to another) detracts from the shot.

I like the color and the highlighted jet streams. But, the obvious "banding" (sharp edges vs continuous gradients) in the sky seriously detracts from this shot.

Not sure what you were going for here. The total impact is diminished because the execution of the shot is so obvious. Attention to detail seems to be lacking in the obvious fold lines in the sheet. Finger positions are the focal point of the picture, yet are indistinct and look deformed.

Wow! Scary story, nice shot. Love the clouds / smoke and the sky. Silhouetting the stacks is a nice touch.

Day 18: Tankers

Comment:
Hmmm. Think this should be more or less. Cropping off the top of the tankers where you did looks rough. Either of the trucks are very nice, and would make a good shot in and of themselves. Don't you just love comments that presume you can stop the car and adjust the tankers to fit whatever you want? Lighting and contrast are very nice on this - you use the bright sun to your advantage. The contrast in color/texture between the three cars is very nice.

I'd agree on the cala lily. The B&W sure fools the eye as to what this is because of all the symmetrical patterns/texture (dots).

Nice shot - lots of light and lots of shadow. Pet peeve - "banding" in the sky - looks like a contour map rather than a smooth gradient - but that's just IMHO.

Like the other one of the boy better. In this, the man and the boy are going different directions and the center of the photo is too hot. Don't they always put a garbage can right in the middle of the most scenic views?

Having this guy not looking at the camera adds to this shot, IMO. Like the textures and lighting. Not much you can do - you need the space above his head, but those bushes look really weird.

I'd like to see this at the opposite end of the day, with the parts in shadow highlighted, and the highlighted parts in shadow. Not enough in this photo to give context to those unfamiliar with a grain elevator. Nice detail for those who are.
