the wonder yearsby tateComment: My two cents worth - your child's expression isn't a peek-a-boo expression (your comment about not hurrying). But I also think a tighter crop would have helped this - like just above the hat on the top side, and with just a bit of the vertical board on the left. Your current crop just provides too much to detract from the "wow" of your shot (which is definitely there). With the tighter crop, I think the pipe does a nice transition from the wood to the face. Your wow is in the beautiful blue of her coat & hat (and matching blue/grey eyes) contrasted with the wood. The tighter crop also changes the expression slightly to almost a half-smile. It is darn cute, regardless of your opinion. |

Ponderingby brownguyComment: I gave this a 5. My wife had a good comment. The eyes were supposed to be the focus, but in this shot, the eyes point you away from them - they "give up" the focus rather than grabbing it.
Welcome to dpchallenge. There is lots of opportunity to learn here. Your shots so far show great creativity, and as you hone your technique, your scores will go up. (I'm still waiting for that to happen...but it will, I know it will... ;-p) |

Pocket Picnicby JeniYComment: Great concept. Great composition. Wrong angle - reflections in silverware just aren't right & silverware looks dirty. |

Just the Two of Us by scalvertComment: Beautifully done. The dark background makes the bright yellow bills and white stand out nicely.
After trying to photograph birds on the water, I have a new appreciation for just how hard it is to do well, and this is beyond well, well into excellent. |

White Weddingby scalvertComment: I can see why you cropped it this way, but you almost miss the swans because of the strength of the trees. |
