Surf's Upby GermaineComment: Sorry. I'm too dense to catch it the first time. Interesting dude. |

004_5.jpgby Gordon_1Comment: Even if you don't want to crop in as tight as the other one, you could still crop a fair amount from this one without losing the bigger context. Be sure to check out my post on the other shot - I don't think you'll be disappointed. Same thing could be done to this shot. |

holden-v8.gifby Gordon_1Comment: You mean like this? instead of ?
This is a fantastic shot, but when you do an extreme crop from a larger shot, the noise will eat you alive. There is no way the more distant shot does this justice.
Allow me to pass along a tip from a fellow dpc-er - check out either Neat Image or Noise Ninja. The above was done with the free version of Neat Image using Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 (and I don't know how to use anything but the most basic functionality - I did a sharpen slightly OOF and reduce noise). You might even be able to get it better than I did.
Other than the noise, this is a great shot and great capture - worthy of publication. Message edited by author 2008-09-06 12:55:14. |

Bug Eyes!by bobonacusComment: I like this shot a lot. The background works as a perfect frame for the car. The clouds reflected in the paint, the low angle and nice crisp insignia, even the highlights on the left fender and hood. That nose almost wants to be peeping out of something - a garage, barn, stable? The blue paint really stands out. Very, very nice. |

Day 3by em3Comment: Wow! That's a steep hill! The burst of light behind the rider serves as a perfect frame. Nice pan shot all by itself. The tilt and sepia just add to the feeling of motion and speed. Very very nice. |

Bicycle-carrying-caseby sfaliceComment: That is great! Just think of all the work that went into making it! Makes me wonder if the wheels really turn! Great shot - nice detail and lighting. Nice tones on the wicker and rattan. Nice angle. I was going to suggest that a bit higher angle might be nice - to give the illusion that the wheels were on the ground, but I think there is enough here to fool the eye, and the hover mode is an essential clue that all is not as it may seem at first. |

IMG_5661WEB.jpgby ace flymanComment: Interesting model (if you could lose that Experian Automotive sticker on the door - ha!). These kinds of shots are hard to do well, and this is well done. You've used good DOF to remove detail from the wall at the rear of the model, and the only hot spot you've picked up from the office lights is below the side rear window. You've got a bit of shadow from the open door on the name plate. Not sure you could do much better in situ.
We've got someone in the subdivision that has a GTO Judge - looks to be about the same year. I get to see it from time to time when he pulls it out of the garage for a bath or whatever. |
