you got 'echessmove'by whiterookComment: Hi Stephen. It looks like you got some camera blur in the white pieces. I suggest using a tripod. The background is a little distracting, but otherwise good composition showing technology as well as the old game of chess. |

marshby annakiya33Comment: I would recommend cropping out the fence and maybe the other dark shape behind the fence on the right. |

The Scenic Wayby jonfrommkComment: The broken concrete is unfortunate. It really grabs my attention. Maybe taken from another spot would be better? |

spike curveby jamesfraterComment: This could be good if it was in focus, but only a couple of spikes appear in focus. |

Sssmileby GrziComment: This has got to be one of the ugliest cat pictures I've seen. The poor cat looks like it's face is injured and whiskers burned. Plus the lighting is harsh. I don't see the S-Curve; maybe the tongue? On the plus side, it's composed and timed well with the yawn. |

S-Curved Riverby glossyartComment: Lovely infrared shot with mirror river and great clouds. Barely meets challenge, but still an 8. |

Run the Waves North?by CharleneComment: It meets the challenge, but appears to be grainy and not very sharp on the curves. The edge looks sharp. |

Flying Shamuby boyd2000Comment: Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll have to start commenting also. Now I recall from my previous June side-challenge that was the most time consuming part.
I did not get wet because we were well above the "Soak Zone" and over 100 feet from the whale in this shot. I have lots of other pictures. I had it in sports mode here, which allowed me to take 3 shots per second. In this sequence I have the whale coming out of the water, in the air, and re-entering the water. I'll try to upload more to my portfolio tonight.
muckpond I agree it should have been longer for the longer whale. In fact it almost looks like the picture was shrunk horizontally with the whale's position. I just did a very rough crop of a small portion of the picture (due to no telephoto lens) and wished later I had cropped out the standing person. |

Holy Mosque of Madinah by alyamiComment: I was wondering if you were the same photographer who submitted this and I see you are. This one is much improved in quality from the other one. Excellent picture and well deserved ribbon. Would you please submit your settings? It looks like a short exposure in twilight that is very sharp, which are very hard to get all of (fast, bright, sharp; pick two). |
