Abuse breaks more than homesby Shanny403Comment: The subject matter makes a blunt statement that's hard to ignore -- one that doesn't need any help. For that matter, the dark processing was unnecessary and only detracts. |

Peaceful time on the Beachby whiterookComment: Quality is a bit rough from what I'd expect of "Fine Art" (but who looks at fine art on a computer anyway?). I can overlook it. The composition is excellent -- the black horizon (or is it water?) in the background, the wooden structure in the front, the shadowy figures -- and the sand which seems to shimmer and shift. Really good. |

A good action shot and I do like surf photography. Why not a six? I think seeing some wave (or a more clearly defined wave -- he's not surfing on air, I realize) along with the surfer would have made this shot stronger. Still very good. |

Really beautiful. Feels infrared and maybe it is. The colors do suggest the transitional time that is March or early spring. Why a five and not a six? I have to admit that I could easily have given this a six in a different frame of mind. For the purposes of this exercise, I won't bump it. Anyway, I feel like some more separation in the trees to make them pop a bit would have helped this along. Maybe it's the size of the image on my small screen that reduces them to a (mostly) white mass. But I'm trying to look past that. |
