Lisboaby halopesComment: The way it blurs on the sides reminds me of a Lensbaby. Quite sharp in the center too. What kind of film are you using? |

easterby karmatComment: Only in a side challenge like this will people go ga-ga over everything that's wrong. Chalk up another one for sensor dust! I love it. Gives it a crazy retro, low-tech look. Great subject, fun colors too. |

chaiplakdp.jpgby IraklisComment: Well, I like it. It's a great urban still life. The black spot keeps it from being too perfect. Anyway, to my eye, it's balanced by some of the decay in the building at the top of the frame. |

Phone conversationby MelethiaComment: Pinhole street shots! You haven't let me down. I have a few of my own, but yours are more convincing. I like the feeling that the world is passing by while these two are stopped. |

Midday Trainby bvyComment: Originally posted by Yo_Spiff: If I had voted this challenge I probably would also have been dense and left a comment about the focus. Your point is a good one. I probably sound resentful or bitter toward the voters ("Don't you people know art when you see it?"), but really I shoudn't be. If I know my entry is going to be lost on the voters (pinhole is certainly a niche), why enter it? So that's my fault. Out of sheer morbid curiousity, I wanted to see what would happen. The number of pinhole challenge entries is small and there's a small group (myself included) watching and waiting to see how the next one will rank.
(By the way, yes, Abstract Motion would have been the smarter choice, and I should have reshot for it.) |
