Wonderfully structural and great glowing colors. The sky is bland by comparison - wish is were all black, deep dark blue would be great but probably too unreal - Atleast I wish you had smoothed out the mottled tones in the gray.

Very clever subject, composition. The viewer doubts what exactly they are looking at and must pay even more attention to the architectural details to orient. The worn textures and colors are lovely. The crop feels a bit tight on the left, but I like the asymetry of the lines. 8

Excellent juxtiposition of sky and subject - the way the clouds spin out from the peak of the roof. Good use of the thirds rule. It seems a bit dark - perhaps a bit more contrast, but then again - it is very Icelandic light. 8

The Past

A quality moody Icelandic shot. With the burning and extra attention to texture you have captured the essense of Arbaer Museum, historical Icelandic achitecture. The symetry works very well. I like how the green door catches up the color of the grass and moss. The bits of burning that come down into the blue sky are a bit odd and distracting - perhaps you went a bit too far.

How wonderful how the spot of blue sky lined up with the swoop of the roof - good eye! I like the red and the blue - so bright and contrasty -yet second to the fabulous white shapes on the roof. Very dynamic composition. Great exposure, focus... 9

My favorite of the challenge - so unusual in composition and color. I especially enjoy the abstract quality of the image, while it is still very structural. The image makes us see like an achitect - form and fuction. And obviously the environment adds an extra special quality. 10

This is absolutely gorgeous - I know how fast chickadees move, to get one this sharp, such good focus, good use of dof (lovely lovely background!) You have done a fabulous job! Thought It would be in the top ten. Favorite for me!

I didn't comment during the challenge, but this shot was a stunner - as it came up on the screen I gasped. This is wonderful! And to have the presence on mind to compose so well under the circumstances - well done indeed! One of my favorites for the challenge and I'm suprised not to find it on the first page. Congratulations on your new daughter - the real challenge begins!

Great job taking advantage of a curious cat - I am assuming the cat walked into you composition and you improvised. This is what happens to us, but without the good improvisation! I like the color - rich and warm. The light is perfect - dramatic and contrasty and crystalizes the moment.
