Lily Lightby KazComment: the light does seem like it is coming from within the lily. I like being able to see the shadowy greens beneath too. Like the shadows of petal on other petals. |

Double Dogwoodby DougPazComment: pink and white together are nice, and the context of the branches in the background. the diagonal of the composition is nice. However wish the blooms could stand out more - the background recede. Maybe you don't need to include all the edges of the petals zoom in more and put the branches out of focus. |

Cactus Bloom, Sonoran Desertby kirbicComment: the flower grilstens in the harsh sunlight - like it is dusted ith diamonds (sand?) the burst of sharp white spikes makes a nice contrast. Is that a jet-trail in the bottom left? Or something white out-of-focus? Wish the backround could have been all vivid blue. Also wish there was a better connection with the bud on the right, or not have the bud in the picture at all. |

Redby lizardbethComment: the red petals are made very vivid against the soft green of the out-of-focus grass, and the stems stand out because of their sharpness and smoothness. Nice left to right, bottom to top direction. |

Peace lilyby RobroComment: the flower is set off well by the leaves, and put in its floral context. I can't decide if the reflection off the left hand leaf makes a nice shadowy echo of the flower or confuses the viewers eye. It is nice how you can see the delicate texture of the petal and how it contrasts with the forceful stamen |

Just off the path-by justineComment: the photo gives a sense of the context of the flora - the blades of grass poking up between the braod leaves, the dark soil beneath, the unopenned buds, and full flowers. The composition is a bit too random, and the lack of focus in the back right corner is arbitrary - having everything sharp would work better. |

Anthesisby TarbiniComment: the purple and green are great together, and the lines in the petals are vivid. I like the stem going down into the corner. Wish the whole flower could have been crisp. |

Artifacts of Floraby sjgleahComment: It is great to see a photo that isn't of a flower! This has great detail that makes you realize color isn't everything. Very original. |

Pink Treeby ladpupmoeComment: lovely spring flora - however the composition detracts from the tree. This picture is mostly house, wires, stop sign and fire hydrant. You need to find someway to isolate the tree, or a part of the tree, or put it in contrats with perhaps one other item - the pink buds against the red of the STOP sign? |
