Fun subject, good illusion. I wish the subject stood out better from the background - if he were wearing all black or red perhaps or if he were lit and the trees were darker.

I like the tilt - mimics the twirling of the stunt kite. I wish the kite were pointing up into all that open sky instead of swooping downward.

Nice composition - you can feel the sweep of the pelican across the sky. Wish the clouds had better definition - a polarizing filter or perhaps playing with contrast on the computer.

I like the light on the water, the dark shap of the bird. Wish the subject weren't dead center - perhaps with the bird more to the right and up we would feel the bird in flying into the space in front of it.

I like the pastel, misty colors and the way the one gull "pops" out - the other two gulls give the viewer an idea of the motion in the picture. I'd crop the top to make the background completely abstract.

I voted favorably on this a while back, but after a read some forum stuff about cats and dogs at rest, I had to come back and comment. Sure there are a lot of cute and boring pet pictures in this challenge, but while this IS CUTE, it is also a FINE PHOTO, well composed, with great detail. I love those claws, and the wiskers catching the light. That little elbow poking out, the whole body is so draped and relaxed it is the essense of "at rest". The b&w is a good choice it simplifies the shot and brings out eyes right in on the cat. After the challenge, I'd spot edit out the glare, specks and whatever in the black background and make a print!

A feeling of dusk after a busy day. I can feel the cool air coming off the water. The dim colors and lazy line of mountains add to the feeling of rest.
