Nice use of thirds. Did you try a slightly tighter crop? I have my monitor calibrated, but this looks a little dark. Looks a little oversharpened - not too keen on the bright outlines of some parts. |

Nice action and framing. Could have used another stop of exposure to bring out detail. |

So Cal coastline? I had a few very similar shots - including the grey clouds. :( I like the composition, but the pelican\'s a bit dark and lacking detail. I realize the limitations you faced, but the result is just OK. |

I always like seeing birds flying at full wing span. Good capture, maybe a little on the dark side though. |

I know it is tough to take bird shots against a bright sky. Too bad the bird colors and textures don't show show up better. These are great birds! Not sure what the answer is, maybe work more with the sun at your back? |

Looks like the light didn't cooperate with you. Dang birds don't fly where the light is. This is still a good silhouette and fun to see. |

Nice composition - you can feel the sweep of the pelican across the sky. Wish the clouds had better definition - a polarizing filter or perhaps playing with contrast on the computer. |
