Pick Your Colorby GolferDDSComment: Great concept, good colors. There is something about the filter, thought that is distracting. |

BowWowWowby akebonoComment: Nice colors but a little overexposed and the focus is not as crisp as it could be. |

Pylonby gerardComment: Hello from the critique club :)
I like the symmetry of the shapes in this shot. The only problem with the shapes is that it pulls my eyes from one place to another. There seems to be no firm focal point.
The photo itself is a bit on the dark side as well.
Overall, however, I believe this was one of the better shots of the symmetry challenge. It met the challenge and did so with obvious talent. |

Just a dumbell by kiwinessComment: Hello from the Critique Club!
This, as you already know from its finish in the challenge, is a wonderful shot! I liked this one when I saw it in the voting.
The focus is crisp and clear, the DOF is interesting and easily directs the eye to a focal point.
I love the silky texture of the metal. Texture is often so difficult to capture, but you've done it here.
I think it's harder to critique the good shots :). This one is wonderful and the ribbon well-deserved.

Constipated?by DustinComment: Hello from the Critique Club :)
Let me first say that I'm not entirely certain what it is about this shot that disturbs me, but the initial impression is not a comfortable one. That's just an "artistic" or "taste" observation on my part, though.
I am intregued by the cross in the eye. It is an amazing focal point. However, the shadow over that portion of the man's face detracts from the strength of the focal point and distracts the viewer.
I like the DOF, the clarity of focus on the face with the blurred background is great.
I wonder about the color here...The face tones seem awfully red and at the same time slightly over-exposed.
In all, I think the shot is a good one, though I think it missed the mark for the challenge. I'm guessing the symmetry is in the cross in the eye. If such was the case, a firmer or larger focus on that eye would have brought it out. If that isn't where the symmetry was, I simply didn't see any. |
